Granton – planning strategy and delivery advice in respect of masterplan for 2000 dwellings on behalf of National Grid Limited. Advice included strategy for future use of category B listed gas holder
New Ingliston, Edinburgh Airport – strategy advice to New Ingliston Limited regarding development of 220 acre strategic gateway site identified in National Planning Framework for Scotland. Advice focused on strategy for bringing forward development in green belt in advance of green belt review. Inclusion of site in National Planning Policy Framework 2 confirmed such development was acceptable
Yorkhill Hospital Glasgow, NHS and Scottish Futures Trust – review of the development potential of Yorkhill Hospital and advising on options and planning risk as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Rettie and Co and Lambert Smith Hampton. The instruction involved co-ordinating public consultation and stakeholder engagement and preparing a strategy and a list of options for future land use.

University of West of Scotland, Craigie Campus, Ayr – detailed planning permission for campus masterplan, including academic buildings, student residences and 120 houses
University of Sunderland – strategic planning consultancy over 10 year period, including securing designation of both main campuses under strategic location for change policy and securing detailed consent for City Campus Masterplan and outline consent for St Peter’s Campus Masterplan. Instruction included strategy advice into proposed allocation of St Peters Campus as part of the Sunderland and Jarrow World Heritage Site, which resulted in restriction of the definition of the WHS boundary to exclude the University’s land holdings. In addition, various detailed consents have been secured for residential development of the University’s assets across the city

Prudhoe Hospital, Northumberland – strategy advice to NHS and Northumberland County Council for re-use of 100 acre site in green belt to the west of Newcastle. The site contained a number of significant listed buildings
Longhirst Hall, Northumberland – strategy advice to Longhirst Hall Ltd in relation to future use of the hall and its surrounding parkland. Uses included hotel, conference centre, and cricket ground. The hall has subsequently been sold as a viable business
Ushaw Moor Hall, Durham – strategy advice to Durham Diocese in relation to future use of listed monestry, walled garden and surrounding parkland
East Fortune Hospital – strategy advice to National Museums of Scotland in relation to retention of category B listed World War I hospital, and Scheduled Ancient Monument World War I airstrip. Strategy included advice in relation to securing Concorde as exhibit at East Fortune Air Museum
Port Edgar Hospital – strategy advice to National Museums of Scotland in relation to future development options for category B listed World War I hospital. Advice included planning and compensation strategy to mitigate the effects of new Forth Road Crossing, which makes its land fall on the Port Edgar site. A masterplan was also prepared to develop links to neighbouring Port Edgar Marina
Boots, Beeston – strategy advice about redevelopment options for grade II* listed drugs factory on the outskirts of Nottingham
Barbush Mill, Johnstone – strategy advice to Burnthills Limited about incorporation of its category B listed factory into town centre regeneration scheme and the development options arising
Patons Mill, Johnstone – planning and listed buildings consent to Punch Holdings Ltd for conversion of category B listed building into 86 flats and planning permission for a further 136 dwellings in the grounds. Consent included permission to remove category B listed chimney. The consents ensured the survival of Patons Mill, which opened in1782 and was Scotland’s oldest surviving continuously used industrial building.
